TL;DL

When Instagram debuted, storytelling changed.

(Quick - alert your agency, your brand team. This may have been lost in their feeds.)

Stories are really about how we process and assess meaning. It’s just that we process differently now.

These are the questions everyone asks, no matter how they’re framed:

Is it for me?

Do I care?

Will it do anything for me?

Am I going to do something about it?

Many story frameworks floating around online, in books, in seminars, in agencies still consider this a linear process.

Yet we scan and assess in rapid-fire succession, piecing together so many random clicks and inputs now.

We’re less linear, more visual, and constantly distracted.

It’s no longer a matter of TL;DR - it’s too long, didn’t look.

Modern story telling is as much about story showing. About dialling in key visuals, getting clear on what you wanton them to remember and building the inputs that let them connect the dots their way AND yours.
